Dominica Blog Post t#2

Dominica is located in a chain of islands in the Caribbean located in the West Indies.  Martinique is located above the island while Guadeloupe is located below. Dominica is known for all of its natural environment such as rain forests and gorges. There are two main languages that are spoken in Dominica which are English which is known as the official language in the country, and Dominican Creole is spoken in some areas of the county. The island national animal is a bird as seen in on the Country's flag.
Dominica's population reaches up to 73,925 people that currently resides there. Dominica's government is a Democratic Republic who has a prime minister as its head of the country, and it is made up of a multi-part system. They tend to use the executive power far more than it is used here in America. There many differences between the states and Dominica but the differences show off what is great within the country. Researching islands in the Caribbean because of how interesting the way of life is in different regions.

                                                               Travel to Dominica
The most used way to get to Dominica is going by plane if you're traveling from Europe and North America is to arrive by plane. You would need a passport if going since you would be leaving the country, and you would need to exchange your money for the Eastern Caribbean dollar.  The trip itself is a tiring journey since it takes roughly eighteen hours to arrive if you don't stop in between anywhere. However it is possible to arrive to the island by a ferry, but this the only ferry route runs through the neighboring islands including St. Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe. This does not take as long since the  islands are very close together.
When traveling to any location, there always must be some research done or at least have some background knowledge about where it is you are going. A great place to stay while being in Dominica is the Cocoa Cottage in the city of Fond Cani. This is a great place for sightseeing, recreation and just being able to get around. Overall it is rated moderately well on google but it has a ton of things to do while being here.
As said before, you would stay in the city of Fond Cani, and of the good things about this city is how close everything is together in terms of sightseeing. Since the island is not the biggest island in the Caribbean, being able to cover more ground and to see more of the island.
One of the great places to go while being here is going to see Trafalgar Falls which has its beautiful sties but nothing compared to its waterfall. Seeing the waterfall up close is something really pretty as they are both right side by side. Also, you would be able to hike through the whole region and once you get past the falls you will see a trail of rocks that leads to even more. Another place to go to is the Papillote Tropical Garden. This place is filled with plant life as there is much nearby mountains and a market where they sell fruit of that is grown there.
In theory, this trip's duration would only be a week, as you would leave Sunday night and arrive in the afternoon of Monday and stay there for the remainder of the week until you would leave Monday morning and arriving sometime in the afternoon the following Tuesday. Staying at the Cocoa Cottage cost a 120 a night for a king size bed. For the whole week that would cost 840 U.S dollars which is equivalent to 2270.14 Eastern Caribbean Dollars. Now to visit the locations that were listed above are free to enter as they are of nature with the exception of the fruit market that is located in the Papillote Tropical Garden. With that being said, the most amount of money would be entirely up to you but to be safe this trip would call for at least 3 grand with you in U.S dollars so you could have spending money for gifts, food and other landmarks that was not listed.
