Marijuana distribution and the legal status in the Commonwealth of Dominica are currently in talks. Just recently in December 2018, medical marijuana was deemed legal on the island. However, they continue to talk about the economic possibility that the drug could bring if it was recreational use was brought in. In today's society, money drives many thing, and it is no different here in Dominica as that is the main reason lawmakers there are pushing the full legalization and since they come with it, decriminalization as well. This would be helpful since officers in Dominica are rather harsh when it comes to arrest involving marijuana. Three main talking points about how it would benefit the economy would be how much and how would it generate revenue, what jobs would be created, and would decriminalizing marijuana would save money. The reality is legalizing marijuana would be really beneficial for its economy because it is an ideal place to actually cultivate the plant, but it would be also able to be a big power house in marijuana distribution. It is the right way to go through.
